Robot Heart Party [Into the Wormhole!], Brooklyn New York — May 4, 2013 —
If you have never been to Burning Man and want to understand what you may be getting yourself into this August, I would suggest catching one of the parties hosted by one of the camps which is responsible for throwing some of the best parties there. For the many of you reading this that don’t know what Burning Man is, it is a giant art and music festival in the middle of the desert in Black Rock Desert of Nevada that goes on for 10 days with some insanely creative projects that are likely to take you on a trip that will remain in your brain for life whether you are on drugs or not. I would say that Robot Heart has one of the best reputations at Burning Man as an overall camp and that this year when I give up my Burning Man virginity, I will be frequenting their camp to put on my dance moves and butterfly wings which I better start making now. I think if you added up all the time put together on each person to prepare for these events, you could start a new thread of time in the universe that would go on forever. The effort made for these events is not understandable until you witness it for yourself and I just love it. This kind of thing is totally for you if you like dancing, dressing up as insane as you like, meeting new people, being entertained, and a few other things that I’m sure you have just enough imagination to put together.
And so Robot Heart threw a fundraiser for their Burning Man camp and it was hosted in a giant space in Brooklyn last weekend. It was very fun and there was eye candy for days. I ran into aliens, lobsters, Indians, hippies, creepy monsters, firemen, dominatrixes, a whole bunch of gremlins, a space captain, and I myself of course was Captain Rose for this one.
I must make one confession; I’m completely stoked but also entirely frightened for the madness which will be going on at Burning Man this year after attending this party. I think I’ll go as a sober person to take it all in after this event. This is all a lot to take in and on Sake and her sister it was all a bit much for me after traveling from California that same morning. But no regrets here [ever] and thank you, Robot Heart. We heart you!
Enough talking, go take a trip…. I hope you do enjoy the party. We all did!
